Admission to Host Scholarship Day Saturday

Friday, March 2, 2007 (Last Year)

Despite the wintery weather, the Office of Admission will host its Scholarship Day as planned on Saturday, March 3, 2007.

During the day, high school seniors will be on campus interviewing for the top academic scholarships the school offers — Presidential Scholarship, Jussi Bjorling Music Scholarship, Evelyn C. Anderson Theatre/Dance Scholarship, and the Gustavus Art Scholarship.

Each candidate will be interviewed by two members of the faculty and/or administrators as a way to get to know the students and for the students to get a better understanding of the College.

Tomorrow is the second of two Scholarship Days being held this year. Last year, more than 300 students attended the two Scholarship Days.

Gustavus Adolphus College is a private liberal arts college in St. Peter, Minn., that prepares 2,500 undergraduates for lives of leadership, service, and lifelong learning. The oldest Lutheran college in Minnesota, Gustavus was founded in 1862 by Swedish immigrants and named for Swedish King Gustav II Adolf. At Gustavus, students receive personal attention in small-sized classes and engage in collaborative research with their professors. Fully accredited and known for its strong science, writing, music, athletics, study-abroad, and service-learning programs, Gustavus hosts a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa and is internationally recognized for its annual Nobel Conference®.
