Gustavus Adolphus College welcomes Icelandic crime-fiction author Arnaldur Indridason to a conversation at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2 in the Melva Lind Interpretive Center on campus. Indridason will discuss his work, including Jar City and Silence of the Grave, two mysteries that have recently been translated into English. This event is free and open to the public.

Indridason graduated with a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Iceland in 1996, and has since written as a journalist and film critic for Morgunbladid, a daily newspaper in Reykjavik, Iceland, and as a freelance scriptwriter. He received the Glass Key Prize from the Skandinaviska Kriminalselskapet (Crime Writers of Scandinavia) two years in a row, and the Golden Dagger Award from the Crime Writer’s Association for Silence of the Grave.

This conversation is sponsored by the Department of Scandinavian Studies, the Folke Bernadotte Memorial Library, and the Book Mark, all at Gustavus Adolphus College.

Gustavus Adolphus College is a private liberal arts college in St. Peter, Minn., that prepares 2,500 undergraduates for lives of leadership, service, and lifelong learning.
