Gustavus Undamaged by Storm, Students Help

The Gustavus Adolphus College campus received no damage from yesterday’s (Aug. 24) storms and no injuries occurred on the campus or in the St. Peter community.

Gustavus students who are on campus for athletic practice or residence-hall training are helping with clean-up efforts in the area. The men’s soccer team, and other Gustavus community members are spending time today cleaning up debris in the city of Nicollet and in rural Nicollet County. The relief efforts will continue through the weekend.

Gustavus Adolphus College is a private liberal arts college in St. Peter, Minn., that prepares 2,500 undergraduates for lives of leadership, service, and lifelong learning. The oldest Lutheran college in Minnesota, Gustavus was founded in 1862 by Swedish immigrants and named for Swedish King Gustav II Adolf.
