Higher Education Conference Grants
2008-2009
Remaining engaged in one's own discipline is a key component of faculty work. Not only does such continuous education allow us to place our scholarship in its larger context, but it informs our teaching, as well.
But we recognize that becoming and remaining engaged in issues about higher education are also of importance to faculty. Not only can faculty learn about ideas and methods practiced by other institutions, but such attendance to the trends and politics of higher education, including governmental, economic, and social, can also engage us as members of the community.
In order to assist faculty who would like to join the larger conversation about higher education, we are pleased to offer modest travel grants to tenured and tenure-track faculty who are able to document their interest in a higher education conference such as those offered by AAC&U, and detail how presentation of work or attendance at a higher education conference will positively affect the Gustavus community.
