Fulbright Workshop
On April 3rd, 2008, learn about lecturing and research opportunities in 140 countries, get advice on which country to apply to and how to make contacts abroad, learn how to prepare the Fulbright application, and explore how your campus can host visiting foreign Fulbright scholars. The mini-grant program encourages individual faculty and groups of faculty (in departments or interdisciplinary programs) to select from many opportunities to formulate a development plan related to teaching and student learning that is appropriate to their situation.

Workshop
The Kendall Center will be sponsoring a workshop - How to Write a Recommendation Letter on Wednesday, April 9th from 4 to 5:00 p.m. in the St. Peter Room. Jeff Stocco, Career Center Director, will lead faculty in a conversation about how to convey information in a manner that is honest and useful. Faculty with all levels of experience are encouraged to join this important conversation. All participants will receive a useful handbook of example letters and resources.

A Celebration of Creative Inquiry - Call for Abstracts
The Celebration of Creative Inquiry is a new, campus-wide forum to publicly share the creative inquiry of students from Gustavus. All students who wish to participate must select a faculty sponsor who has worked with them on their project and/or has the expertise to evaluate the project. Faculty- if you know of students who have carried out projects appropriate for this event, please visit the Kendall Center website.

Faculty Professional Travel Funds Reminder
Please assist us in administering the faculty professional travel funds by turning in your requests for travel funds prior to traveling and promptly turning in receipts for completed travel as soon as possible after the travel is completed. Forms and guidelines for travel funds are available on the Kendall Center website.

Sabbatical, deadline is March 3, 2008 and Research Scholarship and Creativity, deadline is March 17, 2008.
Lilly Network Exchange Program
The Lilly Fellows Program Board is sponsoring a Civil Rights seminar scheduled for June 3-15, 2008, "Returning to the Roots of Civil Rights" is a four-day Civil Rights seminar, followed by an eight-day bus tour to key sites of the Civil Rights Movement with opportunities to meet with participants of the Civil Rights Movement.
