Teachers Talking
Teachers Talking is on Thursday, April 13th. Come at 11:30 or 12:30 to choose your lunch from the banquet and join colleaques for a stimulating conversation. This month we will discuss ~~ "What the heck do we do about Wikipedia?"
New Faculty Mentoring Partners Dinner
New Faculty Mentoring Partners Dinner will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2006 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the St. Peter Room. The topic will be the work/life balance.
New Faculty Orientation Session
The monthly Orientaion Session for new faculty will be held on Thursday, April 6th from 9:00 a.m. to 9:50 a.m. in the Linner Lounge. Topic: Sujay Rao will be discussing contracts and compensation.
April 28 - New Faculty Retreat
Please join your new (first- and second-year) colleagues for a well-deserved retreat, Friday evening into Saturday afternoon, April 28-29, at Shalom Hill Farm retreat center near Windom (about 90 minutes west of St. Peter). This event, sponsored by the Center for Vocational Reflection in partnership with the Faculty Development program, will offer a healthy mix of rest and conversation, solitude and good company, rich ideas and rejuvenation; in a safe, supportive, beautiful environment.

Submit your Faculty Travel Receipts and Requests
As we begin to approach the end of the year, we are trying to reconcile all faculty travel accounts. Our purpose in doing this is - one, to get you reimbursed for faculty travel expenses and secondly, to determine if there will be any remaining funds that may be opened up to other faculty members. Please submit your receipts from any trips at your earliest convenience. And if you are planning a trip, please submit your Application as early as possible. Thank you
Collaboration Fall Conference - Call for Proposals
Proposals are due April 14 for the Collaboration's Fall conference, "Motivating Students for Better Retention, Learning, and Achievement," taking place November 17-18, 2006. The Faculty Development office now has the scrantron SET's forms available in our office and by request. Because the office is not staffed full-time, we ask that you plan ahead and make your requests early. Please email or call with your name and the number of forms you would like and they will be delivered through campus mail. Thank you
Lilly Fellows Program National Research Conference
Through the college's participation in the Lilly Fellow Program, Gustavus faculty may be eligible for reimbursement by the Lilly program for travel, accommodations, and dining expenses to attend the Lilly Fellows Program National Research Conference. The 2006 research conference will be at Baylor University and the theme is "The World and Christian Imagination."
