Lund Center, named one of the top sports complexes for smaller colleges in the United States, features an ice arena; free weight room; a sports forum with hardwood performance courts and synthetic surface courts; a 4-lane, 200-meter indoor track; resistance-weight and aerobic equipment areas; 5 racquetball courts; an Olympic-size pool; and a gymnastics studio. Adjacent to Lund is a new championship-caliber outdoor track and soccer complex, completed in the summer of 2000, which features a 9-lane, Mondo-surface track encircling an Olympic-size soccer field.
Head coach Kari Eckheart and the Gustavus volleyball swept the University of Dubuque and Cornell College 3-0 to conclude the MIAC-IIAC Border Battle with a 4-0 record in Mount Vernon, Iowa. The Gusties defeated Dubuque by the scores of 26-24, 25-7, 25-18 and Cornell 25-21, 25-15, 25-10. Libero Emily Klein (Sr., Red Wing, Minn.) was named to the eight-member all-tournament team as Gustavus improved to 20-3 overall.
