For many years, the Gustavus campus was divided by sex and consisted of the male dorms on the northern side and the female dorms on the southern side of campus, with no visiting past 11 p.m. Students greeted each other on the main north-south sidewalk, which was appropriately named "Hello Walk." The "Hello Wok" in the Market Place is a play on that name.

Gustavus student athlete Kali Griggs has been named MIAC Women's Golfer of the Week for her efforts in helping the Gusties win the 20-team UW-Eau Claire Invitational last weekend. Griggs, a junior from Burnsville, Minn., finished fourth individually with a 36-hole total of 80-79--159.
Former Gustavus men's tennis player Eric Butorac, has reached yet another milestone in his young professional career, as he has advanced to the semifinals of the mixed doubles draw at the U.S. Open. Butorac and his partner Jill Craybas, will face Liezel Huber and Jamie Murray for the chance to advance to the final on Tuesday evening (Sept. 5).
