Dear Tennis and Life Camps Student,

Summer is quickly approaching and the time for Tennis and Life Camps to open is just around the corner. We look forward to having you here at Gustavus Adolphus College.

Tennis and Life Camps is located on the campus of Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, 65 miles southwest of Minneapolis, on Highway 169, and 12 miles north of Mankato on Highway 169. Once you arrive-in St. Peter, continue on Highway 169 (Minnesota Avenue) and follow the signs to the college. Turn west on College Avenue and go all the way up the hill. Then follow the signs to Norelius Dormitory on the north end of campus. If you arrive by plane at the Mankato Airport, by bus in St. Peter, or by Land-to-Air Express shuttle in St. Peter, please ask us to pick you up.

Check-in time for camps starting on Monday is 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. and play begins at 5:00 p.m.

Check-in time for camps starting on Thursday is 3:00 to 5:15 p.m.1 and play begins at 5:45 p.m.

All meals, fruit snacks, and housing are included in the camp price, but no dinner is served the first

evening. (Please stop at one of our St. Peter restaurants.)

Camp is dismissed at 2 p.m. We encourage parents to come early on the final day of junior camps. You may watch the morning instruction, eat lunch in the cafeteria, and listen to the 12:30 p.m. awards program that recognizes student accomplishments and outlines post camp goals.

Enclosed are a tennis goal sheet (white) and an information/ medical form and parental permission slip for students under 18 (yellow). Please return your signed forms and the balance of your fee at least three weeks before your session begins. These forms verify your registration. If you cannot attend, $100 of your deposit will be refunded if you inform us by the three-week deadline.

As you prepare for camp, realize that we provide bed linen (sheets, pillow case and blanket), a pillow, one small towel per day, a wash cloth, and a small bar of soap. We recommend that you bring tennis clothes, non-marking tennis shoes (no cross trainers or running shoes), suntan lotion, insect repellent, an alarm clock, a swim suit, a big towel, bathrobe, and an electric fan. Campers should bring casual clothing for evening social/entertainment activities. Tennis accessories, rackets, clothing and shoes are available in our pro shop. Every camper receives a TLC water bottle and t-shirt.

A note to parents: juniors may not use their cars while at camp nor may they leave campus without our permission. Because of the demanding schedule that requires adequate rest, juniors are not allowed out of their dorm section after 10 p.m. Whoever breaks this rule will be sent home. In case of illness or an emergency, counselors can be reached in every junior section.

We are looking forward to having you here at Tennis and Life Camps this summer. Please write or call if you need assistance. We will see you in a few weeks.

Sincerely, Steve and Barbara Wilkinson
