During the off-season she set up practices that built racket skills and team spirit. Her coach Lisa Link wrote, "Win or lose, Nicole displays the highest quality of sportsmanship and respect for her teammates, coaches, and opponents." Nicole's activities include All-State Chorus, All-State Orchestra, school musicals and plays, vice president of S.A.D.D., Youth Congress, and Girls State. She has spent hundreds of hours in community and church service working for the Volunteer Service Clearing House, Adult Church Choir, Vacation Bible School leader, and leading a service project named "Entertainment, Education, and the Elderly." Nicole arranged visits to elderly people in homes, played the piano during mealtimes, performed on the cello, and took time to visit with residents. |
