The 45th annual Nobel Conference at Gustavus Adolphus College, scheduled for Oct. 6-7, 2009, is titled H2O: Uncertain Resource and will focus on global issues surrounding water resources.

Commissioned to Serve
Over the past year, more than 200 members of the Gustavus community—including faculty, administrators, staff, students, trustees, alumni, parents, and friends—have stepped up to serve the College through Commission Gustavus 150.

Students Serve Through ROTC
Each spring, Gusties taking part in the U.S. Army's Reserved Officer Training Corp (ROTC) travel to Camp Ripley for a weekend of training in the Joint Field Training Exercises (JFTX) to help prepare them to serve their country through the Army after graduation.

Commitment to Volunteer Work
Though many students use spring break as a time to relax and rejuvenate, nearly 100 students from Gustavus Adolphus College chose to embark on a journey to rebuild homes in the south.

Summer Callings
After an eventful academic year many students find the calmness of summer quite foreign. Many students seek jobs or internships. Others pursue scholarship and research. Some take a leap of faith and answer a call to serve others through mission work or camp counseling.

Gustavus at National Gathering
Once every three years, thousands of high school students come together from around the nation for the ELCA National Youth Gathering. A team of 10 individuals from Gustavus Adolphus College will join the 36,000 Lutheran youth and their leaders in New Orleans July 23-26.

Proclaim the Message
Faith opportunities abound at Gustavus. On any given week, there are five chapel services, two or three evening worship opportunities, and a regular Sunday morning service.
