Mission

Virgil with Gustavus studentsThe mission of the Office of Diversity Development and Multicultural Programs is to provide leadership and direction for the development, organization and implementation of diversity initiatives as established by the College's mission, Strategic Plan and President's vision. To provide leadership for positive and equitable change that creates a welcoming, supportive environment for staff, faculty and students of color and in designing activities that infuse an acceptance and appreciation for difference that is morally and socially just into college life. We will help faculty and staff effectively support the academic, cultural and social adjustment of students from various racial, ethnic and cultural populations.

The Diversity Center is located in the lower level of the Jackson Campus Center, room 107. If you have any questions, or simply wish to say "hello," you are welcome to stop by during our normal office hours of 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., Monday through Friday.
