Sited to the west of Lund Center, the proposed new football stadium will provide the Gustavus community with an attractive and unique venue from which to watch the Gusties compete. It will provide space for teaching a variety of activities.
The new synthetic stadium field will be recessed below ground level and feature an earthen berm surrounding the entire field. Spectators will enter the stadium through an arched entryway and may circle the entire stadium via a concrete walkway located on top of the earthen berm. The berm will provide ample space for people to be seated informally on grass to watch festivities. The stadium itself will be constructed partially on grade and partially above the berm. It will provide seating for 2,000 spectators and feature a stadium tower with facilities for the working press, coaches, and guests of the college. A visitors' section across the field will accommodate additional fans and will include space underneath for storage of seasonal equipment.
