The Choir of the West in Concert

Pacific Lutheran College's Choir of the West will present a concert in Christ Chapel on the campus of Gustavus Adolphus College on Tuesday, Janury 27, during its 2009 concert tour. Under the direction of Dr. Richard Nance, the choir is the flagship of PLU's Department of Music. The choir was founded in 1925, and is considered to be one of the outstanding collegiate choral ensembles in the United States. It has toured extensively in the United States, Europe, Scandinavia, Japan and China. The Choir of the West performs several concerts each year, including shared concerts with other PLU ensembles, the annual series of Christmas concerts, campus ministry events, and campus celebratory events. The Choir of the West tours annually, and every four years travels abroad, most recently touring with the University Symphony Orchestra to Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary in the summer of 2007.
