Women's Cross Country 1998
1998 Season
First-year Head Coach Karen Vihstadt saw her young squad turn in several strong performances during the regular season including a second place finish at the St. John’s Invitational and a third place finish in the Grey Race at the UW-LaCrosse Invitational.
In the Championship season, the Gusties placed eighth (out of 12) at the conference meet and 13th (out of 22) at the Central Region meet. Coach Vihstadt’s goal for this young team was striving for improvement each meet and that goal was reached when 18 of the team’s 23 runners recorded career personal best times at the MIAC Championships.
Individually, junior Faith Eskola earned all-conference honors and joined junior Ann Fletchall on the all-region squad.
