MIAC Announces 2007-08 Winter And Spring Academic All-Conference

57 Gustavus athletes received Academic All-Conference

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) recently announced its 2007-08 Winter and Spring Academic All-Conference honorees. The MIAC recognized 386 student-athletes who represented the conference's thirteen institutions. Student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior, or senior with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale to qualify for MIAC Academic All-Conference recognition.

White played in the top spot for the Gusties this season, as the team went 24-9 and finished fifth at the NCAA Team Championships in St. Peter.

    Gustavus Adolphus College women's tennis player Jenni White (Sr., Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Kennedy) fell in the first round singles competition, while White and Sierra Krebsbach (So., North Oaks, Minn./Mounds View) also lost their first round doubles win at the 2008 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championships at Gustavus in St. Peter.

    The 16th-ranked Gustavus women's tennis team saw its season come to an end with a hard-fought 5-3 loss to defending national champion Washington and Lee in the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Women's Tennis Championships in St. Peter. Head coach Heidi Carlson and the Golden Gusties, who lost to Washington and Lee 9-0 earlier in the season, stayed with the top-ranked Generals throughout a match that was nearly five hours long. Gustavus finished its season at 25-9 overall.
  • Women's Tennis Opens NCAA Championship Finals Play on Tuesday Against Washington and Lee
    The Gustavus women's tennis team will face Washington and Lee University in a NCAA Division III Team Championship quarterfinal match at 2 p.m. (CDT) on Tuesday afternoon. Gustavus Adolphus College will be serving as the host of the 2008 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championships. The Gusties enter the match with a record of 24-8, while Washington and Lee enters with a mark of 26-0.
