Meet Notes - The Gustavus womens swimming defeated St. Bens 144-90 at home on Saturday afternoon to improve its MIAC dual meet record to 5-2. The Gusties were led by a quartet of double winners including Anna Felkey (FY, Minnetonka) in the one and three meter diving, Emily Glenn (FY, Evanston, Ill.) in the 1000 freestyle (11:29.17) and the 200 butterfly (2:20.64), Robbi Palombi (FY, Ely, Minn.) in the 200 freestyle (2:06.90) and 200 backstroke (2:16.14) and Kali Ofstehage (FY, Shorewood, Minn.) in the 200 individual medley (2:21.00) and the 100 freestyle (57.57). Palombis time of 2:16.14 in the 200 backstroke was a Lund Pool Record and Glenns time of 2:20.64 in the 200 butterfly was a new school record. The Gusties 400 free relay team of Emily Hadland (SO, Baxter, Minn.), Emily Glenn, Jessica Wagner (JR, Oshkosh, Wisc.) and Kali Ofstehage also took top honors with a time of (3:54.59).
St. Bens picked up seven three first place finishes in the meet including the 400 medley relay team of Remes, Kuhlman, Melsen and Niemi (4:15.10), Kristi Kragseth in the 500 freestyle (5:47.46),and Katie Kuhlman in the 200 breastroke (2:35.79).
Gustavus will compete in a MIAC dual meet at St. Catherine on January 25 and then finish up the regular season at the University of Minnesota Challenge on February 5.
