Jed Friedrich will begin his fourth season as the head men's and women's nordic skiing coach at Gustavus. Friedrich, a St. Cloud native and 2003 graduate of Northern Michigan University, was a two-time all-state honoree in nordic skiing at St. Cloud Apollo High School. He enrolled at Northern Michigan University in the fall of 1999 and was a member of the Central Region Championship teams in 1999, 2000 and 2001. He received All-America Scholar honors from the Nordic Ski Coaches Association in 2000. Friedrich served as an assistant at his alma mater in 2002 and accepted a teaching a coaching position at Herman-Norcross Community school in 2003. While there, he taught health and physical education and served as the assistant girls' volleyball coach, assistant boy's basketball coach and assistant track and field coach.
Friedrich is also the head men's and women's cross country coach. Friedrich was a three-time all-conference performer in cross country and track and field at St. Cloud Apollo High School.
Jed and his wife, Jennie, live in St. Peter.
