Kimbra Kosak and Rachel Roberg Named NGCA All-American Scholars

The National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team was recently announced with a total of 56 Division III women's collegiate golfers, including Kimbra Kosak and Rachel Roberg of Gustavus, recognized with this prestigious honor. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team includes a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 and student-athletes must have competed in at least 66% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.

    Gustavus Adolphus women's golfers Rachel Roberg, Kali Griggs, and Kimbra Kosak have been invited to participate in the Best Buy Charity Classic on June 26-28 in Minneapolis. All three individuals earned invitations to participate by being named to the National Golf Coaches Association Division III All-America Teams this season.

    Five Gustavus Adolphus College student athletes were recognized recently as the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) released the 2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V College Division At-Large Teams. Andy Bryan (men's tennis), Margaret Dorer (women's hockey), Laura Edlund (women's Nordic skiing) and Connor Ziegler (men's swimming and diving) were named to the first team, while Kimbra Kosak (women's golf) was honored on the second team.
  • National Coach of the Year Scott MoeWomen's Golf Coach Scott Moe Named National Coach of the Year
    Gustavus Adolphus College women's golf coach Scott Moe has been named the Division III National Coach of the Year by the National Golf Coaches Association. Moe guided the Gusties to a sixth place finish at the NCAA Championships in Waverly, Iowa. This is the second time that he has been honored as the National Coach of the Year, as he was named the men's golf National Coach of the Year in 2004.
  • Kimbra KosakWomen's Golf Finishes Sixth At NCAA Championships, Kosak Finishes Tied For Sixth Individually
    The Gustavus women's golf team posted a solid final round score of 316 (+28) to finish sixth at the NCAA Championships out of 20 teams. The 72-hole tournament, was played at Centennial Oaks Golf Course in Waverly, Iowa. The Gusties made up 13 strokes to move up two places and finish one stroke ahead of St. Thomas. Junior Kimbra Kosak (Grand Rapids, Minn.) wrapped up a very strong tournament with a final round score of 75 (+3).
