Softball Finishes Regular Season With Sweep Over St. Kate's
The Gustavus softball team wrapped up the regular season with 10-0 and 9-2 wins over St. Catherine on Wednesday afternoon in St. Paul. Rachael Click and Julie Mahre combined to drive in 11 runs during the doubleheader. Callie Nelsen recorded the win in game one, while Betsie Collins posted the win in game two. Gustavus, which finished second in the MIAC standings for the third consecutive season, improved to 30-6 overall and 18-4 in the conference.

Softball Set To Play In MIAC Post-Season Tournament
The Gustavus softball team is the second seed in the four-team MIAC Post-Season tournament, which will take place at Rice Creek Complex in Shoreview, Minn. this Friday and Saturday. The winner of the tournament will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Gusties will open tournament play on Friday against third-seeded Hamline. Game time is 3 p.m.

Softball Sweeps Martin Luther, Mahre Becomes Career Hits Leader, Truebenbach Throws Perfect Game
The Gustavus softball team swept Martin Luther by the scores of 8-0 and 17-0 on Tuesday afternoon in St. Peter. Betsie Collins and Callie Nelsen combined to throw a one-hitter in the 8-0 win in game one and then Erin Truebenbach threw a five-inning perfect game in the 17-0 win in game two. Julie Mahre surpassed Audrey Lenoch for first place on the career hits list in game one with her 207th career hit. Gustavus improves to 28-6 overall.

Softball Clinches MIAC Playoff Berth With Sweep Against Saint Mary's
The Gustavus softball team clinched a berth in the MIAC playoffs after defeating Saint Mary's 7-0 and 6-2 on Sunday afternoon in Winona. Rachael Click and Julie Mahre provided a one-two punch for the Gusties, as Click delivered two home runs and five RBI in game one and Mahre provided three RBI in game two. Callie Nelsen tallied the win in the first game, while Betsie Collins earned the win in game two.

Softball Keeps Pace In MIAC Playoff Chase With Sweep Against Concordia
Solid pitching and timely hitting helped the Gustavus softball team keep pace in the MIAC standings by sweeping Concordia 7-0 and 3-0 on Wednesday in St. Peter. Callie Nelsen, Betsie Collins, and Erin Truebenbach combined to strikeout 26 Cobber hitters in the doubleheader, while a three-run home run from Julie Mahre was a highlight in game one.

Collins, Click Honored as MIAC Softball Pitcher and Player of the Week
The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced on Monday that Betsie Collins has been named the MIAC Pitcher of the Week, while Rachael Click has been named the MIAC Player of the Week for softball. Collins and Click combined to help Gustavus post a record of 9-1 during the week and remain in the hunt for a MIAC Post-Season berth. Click was named co-player of the week along with Katy Gannon of Saint Mary's.

Softball Doubleheader With UW-Stout Scheduled for Tuesday, April 22 Has Been Cancelled
The Gustavus Adolphus at UW-Stout softball game scheduled for Tuesday, April 22 has been cancelled and will not be made up. The game was originally scheduled for April 6 and the teams played through the second inning with Stout holding a 3-0 lead when the game was halted because of rain.

Gustavus Softball Pitchers Shutout Carleton In Doubleheader Sweep
Gustavus softball pitchers Betsie Collins and Erin Truebenbach held Carleton to four hits in two games as the Gusties defeated the Knights 3-0 and 16-0 in St. Peter on Sunday afternoon. Collins struck out 11 batters and gave up one hit in the top of the seventh inning for her fourth straight win in game one, while Truebenbach struck seven and allowed three hits in game two.

Softball Sweeps Doubleheader Against Saint Benedict, Reaches 20 Wins
The Gustavus softball team earned a MIAC sweep of Saint Benedict by the scores of 8-0 in game one and 5-2 in game two on Saturday in St. Peter to earn its 20th win of the season. Emily Wendorff had her best day at the plate as a Gustie, as she went 3-for-5 and drove in six runs. Callie Nelsen earned the victory in game one, allowing just one hit, while Betsie Collins picked up the win in game two.

Softball Splits Doubleheader With Hamline, Winning Game One 10-1, Losing Game Two 9-6
The Gustavus softball team earned a doubleheader split with Hamline in St. Paul on Thursday, winning game one 10-1 and losing game two 9-6. The Gusties scored in each inning en route to a five-inning game one victory. Hamline, which scored eight runs in the first three innings, held off a late Gustavus rally for a win in game two for the series split. Gustavus snapped a six-game winning streak as it fell to 18-6 overall and 8-4 in the MIAC.

Big Innings Propel Softball Past Bethel 9-0 And 8-0
Two high scoring innings proved to be the difference in 9-0 and 8-0 decisions between the Gustavus softball team and Bethel University in St. Peter on Tuesday. The Gusties scored nine runs in the first inning in game one and seven runs in the bottom of the fifth inning in game two to complete both games in five innings. Gustavus, which improved to 16-5 overall and 7-3 in the conference, posted its first MIAC doubleheader shutout since the Gusties shut out Hamline 4-0 and 6-0 on April 17, 2007.

Softball Defeats Macalester 4-0 and 9-2 In Home Opener
In front of the home crowd for the first time this season, the Gustavus softball team extended its winning streak to four games by defeating Macalester 4-0 and 9-2 on Monday in St. Peter. Betsie Collins pitched extremely well in the first game as she recorded 11 strikeouts and allowed two hits. Rachael Click and Kelly Myers went 4-for-5 combined for six RBI in game two. Gustavus improved to 15-5 overall and 5-3 in the MIAC, while Macalester dropped to 6-14 overall and 1-7 in league play.

Softball Gets Back On Winning Track With 9-4, 7-3 Wins At St. Olaf
The Gustavus softball team snapped a three-game losing streak with 9-4 and 7-3 wins against St. Olaf in Northfield on Wednesday. Julie Mahre led the Gustie offense as she went 7-for-8 from the plate with three extra-base hits and four RBI, while Erin Truebenbach and Callie Nelsen earned the victories. Gustavus improved to 13-5 overall and 3-3 in the MIAC, as St. Olaf fell to 8-10 overall and 1-5 in conference play.

Softball Swept By St. Thomas 10-2, 11-1
The Gustavus softball team allowed six home runs on a cold day in St. Paul as the Gusties were swept by fifth-ranked St. Thomas 10-2 in six innings and 11-1 in five innings on Tuesday. The Gustie offense was held to three runs on nine hits, as the Tommie pitchers combined to strikeout ten Gustavus batters during the doubleheader. Gustavus fell to 11-5 overall and 1-3 in league play, while St. Thomas improved to 21-3 overall and 6-0 in the MIAC.

Softball Doubleheader Suspended At UW-Stout In Third Inning
The softball doubleheader scheduled between Gustavus and UW-Stout was suspended after the third inning due to heavy rain with the Gusties trailing 3-0. A make-up date for the series at Menomonie, Wis. will be rescheduled for a later date and will resume in the fourth inning of the first game. Gustavus' next doubleheader is scheduled for Tuesday, April 8 at 4 p.m. in St. Paul.

Softball Splits Opening MIAC Doubleheader Against Augsburg
The Gustavus softball team split its first MIAC contests of the season against Augsburg College after winning the first game 7-2 and losing the second game 9-4 on Saturday afternoon in Minneapolis. Defensive miscues were the story of both games as the Gusties scored five unearned runs in the first game and the Auggies scored five unearned runs in the second game. Gustavus dropped to 11-3 overall and 1-1 in the MIAC, while Augsburg improved to 9-15 overall and 5-1 in league play.

Softball Doubleheader Versus Augsburg Moved To Minneapolis; Webcast Available For Games
The schedule changes continue for the Gustavus softball team as Saturday's doubleheader versus Augsburg College have been moved from St. Peter to Minneapolis. Games will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Edor Nelson Field on the campus of Augsburg College. The Augsburg athletic department will also be providing a webcast of tomorrow's doubleheader. Softball Doubleheader Against St. Catherine Postponed
The Gustavus softball team's doubleheader with the College of St. Catherine scheduled for Saturday, April 26 at 1:00 p.m. has been postponed due to poor weather conditions. The make-up date is set for Wednesday, April 30 at 4:00 p.m. The team's next doubleheader is scheduled to be played in Winona against Saint Mary's on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Baseball and Softball Games Scheduled For Thursday Have Been Moved to Friday
The Gustavus baseball doubleheader vs. Saint Mary's at Gustavus, which had been moved to Thursday, April 3, has now been moved to Friday, April 4 at 2:30 pm. The Gustavus softball doubleheader vs. Carleton at Gustavus, which was originally scheduled for Thursday, has now been moved to Friday at 4:00 pm.

Mahre Named MIAC Softball Player of the Week
The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced on Monday that Julie Mahre has been named the MIAC Player of the Week for softball. Mahre provided a spark at the top of the Gustavus batting order as the Gusties were 6-0 last week at the Tucson Invitational with wins over Kalamazoo College, the University of Chicago, Lawrence University, and Luther College.
