Men's Swimming Defeats St. Thomas 110-82

The Gustavus men's swimming team defeated the University of St. Thomas in a conference dual meet on Friday evening by the score of 110-82. The meet was held in the Lund Natatorium on the Gustavus campus.

The Gusties won the first seven events of the meet and never looked back in claiming the convincing victory. Freshman Ben Hanson led Gustavus with first place finishes in the 1,000 yard freestyle and 100 yard butterfly. Hanson set a new school record in the 1,000 yard freestyle with a time of 9:54.53. Other first place finishes for the Gusties included Connor Ziegler in the 200 yard freestyle (1:53.52), Brian Amundson in the 50 freestyle (22.15) and the 100 yard freestyle (48.62), Greg Pokorski in the 200 yard individual medley (2:03.50), and the 200 yard medley relay team of Jeff Pearson, Brad Hammer, Jonah Winter and Andrew Leaf (1:40.71).

Gustavus is now 2-1 in dual meets overall and 1-1 in the MIAC.
