The 13-player Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) All-Tournament Team for the 2008 MIAC Softball Playoffs was announced on May 5, and included Andrea Brown and Rachael Click from Gustavus. The Gusties were eliminated playoff contention after suffering a 3-0 loss to Bethel and a 7-6 loss to Augsburg.
Brown (So., Willmar, Minn.) went 3-for-7 from the plate in both games of the tournament. With the bases loaded against Augsburg in the sixth inning, Brown delivered a key single that cleared the bases to pull the Gusties within one run. Defensively, she recorded five assists and zero errors while playing third base against the Auggies. Click (Jr., Rochester, Minn.) went 3-for-5 in the double-elimination tournament, including 2-for-3 with a double and a RBI against Augsburg. She led off the fourth inning with a double that would become a run for Gustavus and drove in another run in the fifth.
The Gusties, who finished the season at 30-8 and 18-4 in the MIAC, posted their third 30-win season in program history.
