Women's Nordic Ski Team Places Third in NCAA Qualifier #4

The Gustavus Adolphus women's nordic ski team placed second in the NCAA Qualifier #4 at Graystone Trails in St. Cloud, Minn. Nicole Olson finished seventh in the freestyle race on Saturday and Ingrid Olson finished seventh in the classical race on Sunday.

The Gusties were in third place with 52 points after Saturday's 5k freestyle race. Nicole Olson led the Gusties with a time of 15:38.8 for a seventh place finish. Ingrid Olson finished tenth in the freestlye race with a time of 15:47.9.

Ingrid Olson came from behind to secure the seventh spot in the classical race on Sunday and keep on track to qualify for nationals. Olson outsprinted Rosie Walsh of UW-Green Bay in the last 200 meters to finish with a time of 0:47:32.3 and secure 20 points for the Gusties.

Complete team results were: Northern Michigan (138), UW-Green Bay (109), Gustavus (106), St. Olaf (69), St. Cloud State (54), Michigan Tech (50), Macalester (36), and St. Ben's (30).
