The Gustavus Adolphus College women's hockey team and Hamline University will face off in MIAC Semifinal action on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Don Roberts Ice Rink in St. Peter, Minn. The #1-seed Golden Gusties enter the contest at 23-2-0 overall, while the #4-seed Pipers come in at 14-9-3 overall. The squads met in the first MIAC series of the season when Gustavus won both games 10-1 and 5-1. Saturday's game can be watched and listened to through the Gustavus website. Adele Burk will handle play-by-play duties with the broadcast beginning at 1:50 p.m.

The Gusties became the first women's hockey team in MIAC history to finish the conference regular season 18-0-0 after wrapping up the regular season with 3-0 and 7-1 wins over Concordia…Mari Gunderson was named the MIAC Player of the Week for her performance in the Hamline series as she posted the fourth hat trick of her career and the only Gustavus hat trick of the season in the 10-1 decision and a goal an assist in the 5-1 win…Goaltender Breanna Scavo (So., Blaine, Minn.) is tied for second on the all-time goaltender wins (27) and shutouts (eight) list…Scavo is tied with Jen Zywotko for career wins and Kara Meyer for career shutouts…Molly O'Donnell is the all-time leader in both categories at 35 wins and 11 shutouts…Gustavus, which has a 16-4-2 MIAC Post-Season Tournament record since the tournament began in 2000, is the only team to qualify for all nine post-season tournaments…The Gusties boast a record of 9-0-1 in the semifinal round, and the only team in the league to have played in every playoff final…Gustavus trailed for 2:02 in 1,080 minutes of league play…Several Gusties garnered conference post-season accolades, including Stefanie Ubl being named MIAC Player of the Year…Molly Doyle, Mari Gunderson, Kristin Peterson, and Ubl were named to the All-MIAC team…Jenny Pusch, Melissa Mackley, Laura Vannelli, and Breanna Scavo earned honorable mention all-conference awards…Allie Harwood, Kelsey Johnson, and Peterson were named to the All-Rookie team…The Gusties are 21-0-0 when scoring the first goal…Gustavus has scored 112 goals this season, and allowed only 23…Gustavus has a 17-0 all-time record against Hamline.

The Pipers advanced to the semifinal game by defeating the Bethel Royals 5-2 on Thursday night…The teams combined to commit 19 penalties during the contest…Hamline has scored five goals or more nine times this season compared to 13 times for Gustavus…Melanie Leveille recorded a hat trick, including two power play goals, in the first 33 minutes of play…Alli Miller added two goals in the third period to seal the victory…Leveille is Hamline's leading scorer at 22 points on 13 goals and nine assists…The Pipers had two players, Marie Gross and Kate Raasch, named to the All-MIAC team…Sophie Davidson, Emily Dusold, Melanie Leveille, and Sara Mickelson were named to the honorable mention all-conference team…Between the pipes, Crystal Testolin has logged the most minutes of any Piper netminder on the way to a 9-5-3 record, a 2.89 goals against average, and a 88.1 save percentage…Hamline has scored 80 goals as well as allowing 80…The Pipers are 10-2-2 when scoring the first goal…Hamline made its first MIAC Women's Hockey Post-Season appearance last season where it lost to Gustavus 4-1 in a semifinal contest…In the all-time series against the Gusties, the Pipers have only scored two goals twice and have been shut out seven times.
