The Gustavus men's hockey team will face Saint John's in a key MIAC series this weekend…The Gusties are currently 10-10-1 overall and in third place in the MIAC with a record of 7-5-0 (14 points), while the Johnnies are currently 9-8-2 overall and in sixth place in the MIAC with a record of 5-3-2 (12 points)…Saint John's has played two less games in league play (10) than Gustavus (12)…With three weekends left in conference play, six teams are in a very tight race for five spots…Gustavus has yet to play Saint John's (Feb. 8-9) and Concordia (Feb. 22-23), while Saint John's will face Gustavus (Feb. 8-9), Concordia (Feb. 15-16), and Hamline (Feb. 22-23)…The first round MIAC Playoff game will take place on Thursday, Feb. 28…The #4 seed will host the #5 seed at a time yet to be determined with the winner traveling to play the #1 seed on Saturday, March 1…The MIAC Playoff Championship will take place on Wednesday, March 5 at the site of the highest remaining seed.
