Gustavus senior Chris deLaubenfels (Sr., Mount Vernon, Iowa) has been named MIAC Track Athlete of the Week for his performances at the Minnesota State, Mankato Open last Saturday.
deLaubenfels had a big day for the Gusties as he won the 3,000 meter run with a time of 8:46.0 and finished second in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 15:03.68. His performances came against a strong field of runners from both Division II and Division III schools.
An All-Conference and All-Region performer on the Gustavus cross country team, deLaubenfels will anchor the distance unit for the indoor and outdoor track and field team this winter and spring.
