The #4-Gustavus women's hockey team will face the #3-UW-Stevens Point Pointers in a key non-conference game on Tuesday night at Ice Hawks Arena in Stevens Point, Wis. at 7 p.m. The Golden Gusties enter the contest at 17-1-0 overall, while the Pointers come in at 16-0-2 overall. Last weekend, Gustavus swept Augsburg 5-1 in Minneapolis and 6-0 in St. Peter. UW-Stevens Point went 1-0-1 with a 6-1 win against UW-Eau Claire and a 3-3 tie against UW-Superior. In the first game between the teams, Gustavus lost 5-1 despite outshooting UW-Stevens Point 35-12.

The Gusties are led by Stefanie Ubl (Sr., Blaine, Minn.) with 11 goals and 14 assists for 25 points…Ubl, the reigning MIAC Women's Hockey Player of the Week, recorded three goals and two assists in the weekend sweep over Augsburg…Mari Gunderson (Jr., Shoreview, Minn.) is second in scoring at 16 points (11 g, 5 a)…Gustavus goaltender Breanna Scavo (So., Blaine, Minn.) has the fifth-lowest goals against average in Division III at 1.00…Laura Vannelli (Sr., Apple Valley, Minn.) became the 10th Gustavus women's hockey player to play in 100 games…Vannelli played in 87 consecutive games before a concussion forced her to miss four games this year…Gustavus is ranked second in four statistical categories in Division III, including scoring (4.61 goals), goals allowed (1.00 goals), power play efficiency (27.4 percent), and penalty kill efficiency (91.1 percent)…Since the 2002-03 season, Gustavus is 16-6-1 when playing games on days other than Friday or Saturday, including playoffs…The Gusties are 7-0 against MIAC opponents in these games and 9-6-1 against non-conference teams during the span…The Gusties have outscored opponents 31-5 in the third period...Gustavus has a 5-9-2 all-time record against UW-Stevens Point.
