The Golden Gusties enter tonight's basketball game at 8-6 overall and 7-4 in league play, while Macalester comes in at 5-9 overall and 4-7 in the MIAC…Gustavus is coming off a big 77-73 overtime win over Carleton in Northfield on Monday night…Vicky Peterson (Sr., Plymouth, Minn.) hit two free throws with :02.7 remaining in overtime to seal the win…Monday's win marked the first time Gustavus defeated the Knights on their home-court since February 22, 2003 when the Gusties claimed a share of its only MIAC title in a 63-62 victory…Macalester suffered a 72-61 loss to Hamline on Monday night …In the first contest between Gustavus and Macalester, the Gusties won 54-51 despite trailing 22-27 at halftime in its first game of the season.

The Gusties are led by Jess Vadnais who is averaging 18.3 points in 35 minutes per game in conference play…Vadnais is the second leading scorer in the MIAC…Vadnais became the eighth player in Gustavus basketball history (including men's and women's programs) to reach the 1,500-point milestone as she sits at 1,505 points…On Saturday, Vadnais became the all-time leading scorer in Gustavus women's basketball history breaking the mark of 1,466 points set by Bri Monahan last year…No other Gustie player averages double-digits…The Scots are led by Ann Baltzer with 15.4 points and 7.2 rebounds per game in MIAC play…Two other Scots average double-digit scoring in the league, including Trina PaStarr with 14.0 points and Danielle Johnson with 10.5 points…Gustavus is fourth in team defense allowing 62.5 points, while Macalester is right behind them allowing 62.7 points…The Gusties are eighth in scoring at 64.8 points whereas the Scots are next to last in scoring at 59.1 points…Neither team has shot well this season as both teams are eighth or lower in the MIAC in field goal, free throw, and three-point field goal percentages…The Scots are last in the conference with 15 three-pointers with the Gusties just ahead of them with 34…Gustavus leads the MIAC with 12.09 steals per game, while Macalester is fourth with 10.45…The top two thieves in the league will be on the floor as Eartha Bell leads the MIAC with 3.82 steals and Jess Vadnais in second with 3.36 steals…Vadnais is approaching two other career milestones, 300 assists and 200 steals, as she is currently at 283 assists and 186 steals…She would become the first player in Gustavus women's basketball history to reach 1,000 points, 300 assists, and 200 steals…Three Macalester players average over five rebounds per game, including Ann Baltzer (7.2), Trina PaStarr (7.2), and Alyssa Lunde (5.7)…During the current three-game winning streak, the Gustavus bench has averaged 24 points per game, outscoring opponents 72-35 in that stretch…The Gusties are 6-1 when leading at halftime and 2-6 when trailing at intermission…The magic number for the Gustavus offense is 65 as the team is 6-0 when scoring 65 points or more…Macalester has not defeated Gustavus since January 21, 2002 when the Scots won 67-65 in St. Paul…The Gusties hold a 46-7 advantage over the Scots in the all-time series.
