Gustavus Adolphus College sophomore hurdler Tyler Geyen (Watertown, Minn./Watertown-Mayer) has been named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 25, 2007. Geyen won the 55-meter hurdles at the Pre-MIAC Meet hosted by Carleton Feb. 23 in a time of 7.85 seconds.

Geyen's time ranks him first heading into this weekend's Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships at St. Olaf College. Geyen is just 0.1 from reaching the provisional qualifying mark of 7.75 for this year's NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Geyen, a biology major, is the son of Tim and Lois Geyen of Delano and a 2005 graduate of Watertown-Mayer High School.
