Hailey Harren claimed her second consecutive NCAA Central Region Title

The Gustavus women's cross country team completed its season with an eighth place finish at the NCAA Central Region meet held at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn. The Gusties totalled 228 points to finish four points behind seventh place St. Olaf. Grinnell College won the meet with a score of 48.

Individually, Gustavus' Hailey Harren won her second consecutive region title with a time of 21:37.82 over the 6,000 meter course. Harren finished 31 seconds ahead of second place finisher Sarah Spencer of Grinnell. Harren automatically qualifies for next weekend's Division III Cross Country Championships which will take place at Voice of America Park in West Chester, Ohio. She will attempt to win her second consecutive individual national title.

Other finishes for Gustavus included Sarah Bernhardson finishing 26th in a time of 23:37.92 , Laura Edlund finishing 54th in time of 24:04.32, Heidi Bulfer finishing 73rd in a time of 24:27.57, Val Berquam finishing 74th in a time of 24:27.67, Sarah Willis finishing 93rd in time of 24:48.8 and Maari Hanson finishing 132nd in a time of 26:05.02.
