Volleyball Team Defeats St. Kate's 3-1 For Sixth Straight Win

The Gustavus volleyball team continued its winning ways with a convincing 3-1 (31-29, 30-22, 31-33, 30-19) win over the College of St. Catherine on Saturday afternoon in St. Paul. The Gusties are now 12-3 overall and 4-0 in the MIAC.

Four players recorded double digit kills for Gustavus including Andrea Kron (Jr., Cold Spring, Minn.) with 19, Jen Thelemann (Jr., LeSueur, Minn.) with 18, Jess Plemel (Sr., Owatonna, Minn.) with 11, and Becca Thompson (Sr., Mankato, Minn.) with 10.

Defensively, five players recorded double digit digs including Emily Klein (So., Red Wing, Minn.) with 26, Bridget Burtzel (So., Cold Spring, Minn.) with 18, Jess Plemel with 17, Rachelle Jakobs (Sr., Montevideo, Minn.) with 14, and Jessi Weber (Fy., Osceola, Wis.) with 10.

The Gusties next game will be Wednesday, Sept. 27 against Bethel at home beginning at 7:00 pm.
