Women's Golf Fifth at Cobber Open

The Gustavus Adolphus women's golf team finished fifth Friday at the Cobber Open after posting a 18-hole team score of 334 at Wildflower Golf Course in Detroit Lakes, Minn. Augustana (S.D.) captured the team title with a 317 total, while MIAC rival St. Thomas finished third, three strokes ahead of the Gusties at 331.

Junior Rachel Roberg (Rice Lake, Wis.) shot the low round for Gustavus with ninth-place round of 79. Senior Breanne Staples (Windom, Minn.) and sophomore Kimbra Kosak (Grand Rapids, Minn.) finished tied for 18th place with matching 84s. Sophomore Lauren Runsvold (Fargo, N.D.) and first-year Kali Griggs (Burnsville, Minn.) each carded rounds of 87, while first-year Amanda Johnson (Bemidji, Minn.) rounded out the scoring for the Gusties with a 92.

The Gusties continue play at Wildflower this weekend at the Concordia Invitational. Play is scheduled to begin Saturday at 12:30 pm with Sunday's final round beginning with a 9 am shotgun start.
