Women's Swimming and Diving Downs Concordia, 131-100

The Gustavus Adolphus women's swimming and diving team evened its dual record at 2-2 with a 131-100 win over Concordia-Moorhead on Saturday at Lund Natatorium in St. Peter. Junior Beth Hartman (Eagan, Minn.) figured in three event wins, winning the 200 and 500 freestyles, while also swimming a leg on the 200 medley relay team. The Gusties will be back in action December 2-3 when they participate in the Carthage Invitational and the St. Cloud Diving Invitational.
The Gusties kicked off the meet with the 200 medley relay team of Hartman, sophomore Sunny Sonnabend (Prior Lake, Minn.) and first-years Britta Nelson (Morrison, Colo.) and Britney Manthey (Rochester, Minn.) taking the win in a time of 2:04.06.
Hartman later added wins in the 200 freestyle (2:05.11) and the 500 freestyle (5:39.03), while Manthey scored a win in the 100 freestyle with a 59.24 clocking. Manthey also combined with sophomore Danielle Gergen (Hastings, Minn.) and first-years Briana Hewitt (Apple Valley, Minn.) and Katie Leaf (Center City, Minn.) to post the lowest time in the 200 freestyle relay, touching the wall in a time of 1:47.92.
Sophomore Alecia Gooch (Minot, N.D.) and first-years Carly Ernst (Lincoln, Neb.), Amy Erickson (Shorewood, Minn.), and Danielle Harms (Sun Prairie, Wis.) also posted individual wins for the Gusties. Ernst won the 1000 freestyle with a time of 11:40.01, while Erickson posted a 2:24.02 clocking to win the 200 individual medley. Gooch followed with a 1:04.36 mark in the 100 butterfly. Harms rounded out the Gustavus victory list with a win in the 100 backstroke (1:07.68).
