Women's Golf Sixth After Day One of NCAA Fall Preview

The Gustavus women's golf team sits in sixth place following day one of the NCAA Division III Fall Preview hosted by Oglethorpe University. The Gusties fired a 18-hole total of 368 on Saturday and are three shots behind the host school. Breanne Staples (Jr., Windom, Minn.) shot the low round of the day for the Gusties with a 41-43--84 and is tied for fourth place individually, just three shots out of the lead. Eight-time defending national champion Methodist leads the field after firing a team score of 333 on day one.

Senior Kelli Groff (Bloomington, Minn.) is tied for 13th place after posting a 44-44--88 on the par-73 layout at the El Campeon Golf Course at the Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.

The Gusties will wrap up their fall schedule with Sunday's final round.
