The Gustavus women's cross country team placed three runners in the top 25 and finished fourth of 28 teams in the Maroon (Division III) race at the Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota on Saturday. Carleton won the team title with 93 points, while UW-Eau Claire edged St. Olaf for second place, 112-114. The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference claimed seven of the top ten spots in the team race.

Junior Hailey Harren (Cold Spring, Minn.) picked up her third top-two finish in three races this season with a second place finish. Harren finished in a time of 22 minutes, 22 seconds — 26 seconds behind individual champion Amanda Kuca of Concordia (Wis.). Senior Kourtney Joyce (Wadena, Minn.) finished 12th overall, the highest placing of any team's second runner across the line. Senior Ashley Cronin (Kandiyohi, Minn.) narrowly missed a top-20 finish, crossing the line in 21st place.

The Gusties are idle until October 8 when they travel to Waverly, Iowa to participate in the Wartburg Invitational.
