Gustavus Adolphus senior cross country runners Sarah Bernhardson and Chris deLaubenfels have been named to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Cross-Country All-Academic Teams. A total of 353 runners, 150 men and 203 women, from over 100 Division III institutions were selected for the teams.

MIAC Announces Fall 2007 Academic All-Conference
The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) recently announced its Fall 2007 Academic All-Conference honorees. The MIAC recognized 304 student-athletes who represented the conference's thirteen institutions. Student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior, or senior with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale to qualify for MIAC Academic All-Conference recognition.

deLaubenfels Finishes 54th at NCAA Cross Country Championships
Gustavus senior Chris deLaubenfels completed his career with a 54th place finish at the 2007 NCAA Men's Cross Country Championship which was run at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn. on Saturday. deLaubenfels recorded a time of 25:28 over the 8,000 meter course which was 1:04 behind overall champion Tyler Sigl of University of Wisconsin-Platteville.

Chris deLaubenfels Set To Compete At NCAA Cross Country Championships
Gustavus senior Chris deLaubenfels (Mount Vernon, Iowa) will compete at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships hosted by St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn. this Saturday. deLaubenfels, who finished 11th at the NCAA Central Region Championships last Saturday, will compete in a field of 357 runners. deLaubenfels has improved greatly over the course of his career after placing 114th at the 2005 MIAC Championships as a sophomore.

Men's Cross Country Finishes Seventh at NCAA Central Region Meet, deLaubenfels Advances to NCAA National Meet
The Gustavus men's cross country team seemed to save its best performance of the year for the last meet of the season with a seventh place finish out of 23 teams at the NCAA Central Region Meet held at St. Olaf Colege in Northfield, Minn. The Golden Gusties scored 218 points to finish 43 points behind sixth place St. Olaf. Nebraska Wesleyan won the meet with 88 points.
