check-in:





Teams will check-in on Tuesday, May 13th from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Jackson Student Union Banquet Room. Individual participants not in the team competition may check-in at the Swanson Tennis Center during the day. Player momentos, NCAA merchandise, banquet tickets, and general information will be given at check-in.

travel:




Air travel arrangements must be made through the NCAA travel service at Worldtek Travel, Inc. in order to receive NCAA guarantee for air travel. The toll free number is #1-800-243-1800. All teams and individuals must arrange for their own ground transportation while in Saint Peter. Consult your NCAA tennis handbook for details.

Hotel Rooms:






Six (6) double rooms have been reserved for the competing teams at the Best Western in Mankato. Additional rooms are available for individual participants. Please call (507-625-9333) immediately to confirm your reservations and get additional rooms if needed. A limited number of additional rooms for parents and friends have also been blocked at this site. The NCAA Championship tournament rate is $69 plus tax. This property is 10 minutes from St. Peter and Gustavus Adolphus College.

Medical:

The training room will be open and available during practice times and championship competition. Certified trainers will staff the event.

Locker rooms:


Locker rooms will be available for practice and prior to competition. Locker rooms are located in the Lund Center and the Swanson Tennis Center. Check-in at the information desk for locker room assignments.

NCAA
merchandise:


NCAA Championship merchandise will be made available to the teams prior to general sale. Only cash or checks payable to Gustavus Adolphus College will be accepted.

Racquet stringing:

Racquet stringing services will be available for a nominal fee. Please bring your own string.

Practice courts:




Teams should call the Swanson Tennis Center (507-933-6185) to reserve courts for practice reservations for Tuesday. Those who fail to do so will not be guaranteed immediate walk up practice time. However, there should be enough space to handle everyone. Individuals will have access to Gibbs and STC for practice.

1). Indoors at STC if rain (3 courts per team for 1 hr 15 min per session)
Tuesday Times:

3:00pm - 4:15pm 4:30pm - 5:45 pm

2). Outdoors at Brown / Gibbs (4 courts per team for 1 hr 15 min per)

Tennis Balls:


The NCAA will provide balls for all championship matches. Wilson is the official ball for all NCAA tennis championships. Balls shall be changed after the second set in a match.

Uniforms:




All competitors should wear exclusively the official uniform of their institution during competition warm-up for competition, interviews and the awards ceremonies. All players on each team are expected to wear the same team uniform at the start of the match. Apparel bearing professional sports team logos cannot be worn. (Refer to logo policy in handbook.)

Rules:






The United States Tennis Association and ITA rules will be followed unless superseded by modifications adopted by the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Tennis Committee. Play shall be governed by the "tennis code." That is, players must call balls on their side of the court and whenever there is doubt, they must give the benefit of the call to their opponent. The chair has the authority to overrule any incorrect calls. Solo chairs will be used for each match. A full complement of officials will work the finals.

Banquet:




The tournament banquet for coaches, participants and officials will be held Friday, May 16th at 6:00pm in Alumni Hall on the campus of Gustavus Adolphus College. Guests are welcome but must be included on the RESERVATION FORM. The costs for guests will be $25 and must be paid before Wednesday, May 14th. Business casual attire is requested.
