Fall Summary - Junior Loren Collins placed third in the singles tournament while sophomores Adam Morgan and Brett Morse-Karzen finished fourth in the doubles tournament at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s (ITA) Small College Championships held in Corpus Christi, Texas on October 16-19. All three players earn All-America honors by virtue of advancing to the ITA Championships.

Collins, who advanced to the ITA Championships by virtue of winning the Midwest Region singles title at Gustavus in early October, defeated Brian Alvo from Washington University 4-6, 6-3, 6-0 in the third place match. Morgan and Morse-Karzen, who also advanced to the ITA Championships by winning the Midwest Region title, lost to Paul Bristow and Dan Uyar of Mary Washington College 6-3, 6-2 in the third place match.


Spring Summary - Coach Steve Wilkinson’s squad won its 16th consecutive MIAC title and 31st in the past 34 years. The team won the NCAA Central Region title with wins over Carthage (5-2) and Coe (4-0) and advanced to the NCAA Team Championship in Lewiston, Maine before falling to eventual national runner-up Williams 4-1 in the quarterfinals. Loren Collins played in the singles championship and Adam Morgan and Brett Morse-Karzen and Ben Lundell and Collins played in the doubles championship. Collins (seeded #3 in the singles tournament), and Morgan and Morse-Karzen (seeded #3 in the doubles tournament) earned All-America honors by virtue of being seeded at the national tournament. The Gusties finished the season with an overall record of 28-7.
