2003-04 Season

Season Summary – Coach Scott Jerome’s squad recorded the finest season in the program’s history winning its first ever MIAC Championship and finishing fourth at the NCAA Central Region meet. The Gusties won the MIAC title in convincing fashion over St. Olaf and defending champion St. John’s. Sophomore Erich Ziegler won both the freestyle and classic races. Gustavus claimed six of the top seven spots in the classical race with Ziegler in first, Andy Rishavy in third, Chuck Anderson in fourth, Dan Kueffer in fifth, Jahred Stephens in sixth and Nate Porath in seventh. Ziegler, Rishavy and Anderson earned all-conference honors by finishing in the top four. Ziegler was named the MIAC’s Skier of the Year.
