The Gustavus men's soccer team saw its 2008 season come to a close with a 3-0 loss to Augsburg in a MIAC Playoff game in St. Peter on Tuesday afternoon. The Auggies exploded for three goals in the second half to claim their first win over the Gusties since Oct. 22, 1997. Gustavus, which finished second in the MIAC in regular season play, completed its season with a mark of 13-5-1.

Men's Soccer Secures #2 Seed In MIAC Playoffs With 2-1 Win Over St. Thomas
The Gustavus men's soccer team closed out regular season play with a hard fought 2-1 win over St. Thomas in St. Peter on Saturday afternoon. The Gusties jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals by Mark Adams and Ben Eriksson and then hold off a late Tommie rally to claim the important conference win. Gustavus finished conference play in second place with an 8-2 record and will now host #3 seed Augsburg in St. Peter in the first round of the MIAC Playoffs on Tuesday, Nov. 4.

Men's Soccer Holds On For 3-2 Win At Buena Vista
The Gustavus men's soccer team jumped out to a 3-1 lead against non-conference foe Buena Vista on Sunday, but then had to hold off a late charge from the Beavers to claim a 3-2 win in Storm Lake, Iowa. The Gusties got goals from Max Malmquist, Fraser Horton, and Chris Golv, while Luke Strom picked up the win in goal. Gustavus is now 12-4-1 on the season.

Men's Soccer Clinches Playoff Berth With 2-1 Overtime Win At Macalester
The Gustavus men's soccer team claimed an important 2-1 conference win over Macalester in St. Paul on Friday night. Freshman defender Justin Eglseder took a pass from Skylar Schulz and drove a ball past Scot goalkeeper Mark Mullaney from the six-yard line in the 109th minute. The win allowed the Gusties to clinch a spot in the MIAC Playoffs for the sixth consecutive year.

Men's Soccer Falls to St. Olaf 1-0
The Gustavus men's soccer team saw their hopes for a regular season conference title take a big hit with a disappointing 1-0 loss at St. Olaf on Saturday afternoon. The Oles got the lone goal of the game in the fifth minute from Nate Swenson. The Gusties out-shot the Oles 17-11 and held a 8-2 advantage in corner kicks in the match.
