Season Summary – The Gusties compiled yet another memorable season winning the MIAC regular season (18-2) and Playoff Championship titles. The regular season league title was the first in seven years. After defeating Macalester in the MIAC Playoff Championship game (75-69), the Gusties received a first round bye in the NCAA Tournament. The team lost to eventual national champion UW-Stevens Point 66-55 at home in the second round of the tournament. The Gusties, who finished with a record of 22-6, posted their fourth straight 20-win season and ninth in the past ten years. Post-season awards included Tim Brown, Doug Espenson and Chris TeBrake being named to the All-Conference team, Doug Espenson being named Sixth Man of the Year and Mark Hanson being named Coach of the Year in the MIAC. In addition, Brown received All-Region and All-America honors and was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team.
