The Golden Gusties finished the season with a record of 7-3 overall and 6-3 in the MIAC which placed them in a tie for fourth place. For the second year in a row, Coach Jay Schoenebeck's squad went into the final week of the season with a chance to claim a share of the league crown with a win, however, the squad's hopes were dashed in a 31-16 loss to St. John's. Senior running back Travis Prunty broke several school records including rushing touchdowns in a season with 12 and total touchdowns in a season with 17. Prunty also rushed for 1,062 yards in the ten games becoming only the fifth player in school history to rush for 1,000 yards in a season. Sophomore linebacker Brian Bergstrom set the school record for tackles in a season with 136 and was named Football Gazette's National Defensive Player of the Week on October 18 when he recorded 16 tackles, intercepted a pass and forced a fumble in the Gusties 26-20 win over Bethel. Senior running backs Travis Prunty and Ryan Britz, senior defensive end Cameron Scripture, junior placekicker Christian White and sophomore linebacker Brian Bergstrom were named first team all-conference.
