The Advising Center coordinates the faculty-based academic advising program and provides a number of services to help you make the most of your academic experience at Gustavus.
Along with your advisor, Collegiate Fellow, and professors, the Advising Center staff offers advising and academic support services. The Advising Center staff can also refer you to other people, on and off campus, as additional resources.
The Advising Center offers these services:
Services are provided through:
- Individual meetings
Initial conversations center on assessing your needs and concerns. An individualized plan is then developed to strengthen specific academic skills and/or a specific program is designed for course selection.
- Outreach programs
Programs are presented periodically to classes, residence hall groups, and other interested student organizations on topics such as planning a major, designing a four-year plan, textbook reading, text anxiety, and motivation and goal-setting.
To
