English Language Learners (ELL)

English Language Learning (ELL) support is available in the Writing Center for individual meetings with students and for consultation with faculty who have ELL students in their classes. The College’s ELL staff person can provide a letter for a student to bring to faculty that explains and supports test taking considerations, leaving it to the professor’s discretion whether or not to follow the recommendation. It is expected that students will work on their writing competency throughout their years at Gustavus.
