DONNELLY RECEIVES 1995 APSA BEST PAPER AWARD
Congratulations to Elizabeth A. Donnelly, the recipient of the Best Paper Award of the Religion and Politics Organized Section for the 1995 APSA Annual Meeting. Donnelly, who is ABD at Harvard University, presented her paper, "Catholic Church Activism on Issues of International Ethics: The Case of Third World Debt" as part of a panel on The Catholic Church and Global Politics. Donnelly was cited for her treatment of the Catholic Church as a transnational actor. On the basis of extensive interviews with Vatican and World Bank officials, Donnelly analyzed difficult questions of Third World debt.
Members of the committee which selected Donnelly for the award included: Paul J. Weber, University of Louisville; Anthony Gill, University of Washington; John Green, University of Akron; and Mary Segers, Rutgers University, serving ex officio as Coordinator of the 1995 Religion and Politics APSA panels.
The Best Paper Award is for the best paper on religion and politics presented at the previous APSA Annual Meeting
