The Adolphus Jazz Ensemble provides an opportunity for students to perform and study big band jazz and jazz improvisation. While less time-consuming than the Jazz Lab Band, the Adolphus Jazz Ensemble participates in the fall and spring jazz concerts, as well as Family Day concerts in the fall.
Emphasis is placed on learning jazz phrasing and styles, as well as developing improvisational skills. As with the Jazz Lab Band, members of the Adolphus Jazz Ensemble receive academic credit and audition for a position in the group each fall.
Rehearsals are Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:30–8:20 p.m..
