Resources for History

History can be defined as the study of the nature of the human past. It utilizes evidence in the form of primary sources and interprets it in a variety of ways. This guide to library resources for history covers some basic guides, reference books, and indexes to the literature of the field. There are some suggestions, also, on where to find primary source material and electronic texts using Internet. It is a field with a vast and proliferating reference literature; don't hesitate to ask a librarian for suggestions if this guide doesn't cover what you need.
