Gov Docs Home

Q: How long has the Folke Bernadotte Library been a depository library?

A: The Folke Bernadotte Library has been serving the Gustavus Adolphus College community and the information needs of the 1st and 2nd Congressional Districts of Minnesota as a selective depository library of United States Federal Government publications since 1942.

Q: How many government documents does the library receive annually?

A: Currently we receive about 35% of what is available through the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP). This amounts to over 10,000 items on many subjects added annually to a collection of more than 120,000 documents in paper, microfiche and on CD-ROM.

Q: Where is the main government documents collection?

A: Although many titles are cataloged and found in the Reference and Periodicals collections, the bulk of the documents are shelved in a separate collection on the first floor of the library.

Q: Are there any government document collections outside of the library on the campus?

A: Gustavus has a map collection containing thousands of U.S. Geological Survey maps located in the Robert Moline Map Library in Nobel Hall.
