Mankato & St. Peter Public Library (Traverse de Sioux System)
The St. Peter Public Library is brand new, beautiful, and just a few blocks away from campus. If you head down (east) College Ave. and take a left (north) onto Washington, the library is just two blocks from there.

Finding Articles

Databases for articles and other materials offer references to publications that may or may not be in this library; some databases offer full text of articles and others simply references. There are in-depth databases that cover publications in a particular field and others that are interdisciplinary. Databases can be accessed from a drop-down list on the library's main page; descriptions can be found here.

ERIC (through WebPALS)
The ERIC database, the major index to articles in education journals and reports of education research, is accessiblethrough PALS. It contains citations and abstracts to over 900,000 articles and documents and is updated monthly. The library does not own the ERIC Documents, but some are available through E*Subscribe. Those that are not available through E*Subscribe can be requested through Interlibrary Loan. There are two subfiles Journals in Education and Resources in Education and they may be searched separately.

E*Subscribe
Full text of ERIC documents from 1996 forward.

Expanded Academic ASAP (InfoTrac)
Searches both general magazines and scholarly journals on a variety of topics.

JSTOR
JSTOR is an archival database and does not include current journal issues, but provides complete full-text back files for 78 journals from more than 15 academic disciplines. All journals are fully searchable or are available for browsing.
