About me

Each student will create this link on their homepage. It will direct the visitor to a page that will be in the format of a short iMovie designed to help the visitor become better acquainted with your interests, philosophy of teaching and learning, and/or characteristics. This is a creative project that allows you a great deal of freedom in deciding what you wish to include within this iMovie, while following the process outlined below:

  1. Learn the basics of creating an iMovie project during class.
  2. Select 5 words or phrases to answer the question, "Who am I?" This can include background, family, culture, philosophy, hobbies, etc.
  3. Select pictures that illustrates your responses.
  4. Combine your words and phrases with your pictures to develop a 3-5 minute movie that gives a glimpse at who you are and your teaching philosophy.
  5. Select an audio file (track from CD, etc.) to play throughout your movie.

Hints for Selecting your Digital Pictures

Digital Pictures -

  • Collect digital pictures - either original or non copy-protected images - that demonstrate the points outlined in your narrative. You do not need to be a subject in the pictures, but you can be. If you have good pictures of you teaching or coaching - use them!
  • Use good quality pictures that are clear, use color appropriately, and enhance the message you are trying to convey.
  • Use a variety of pictures - some that illustrate a concept simply and others that show the complexity of your word or phrase.
